Laura and Zach’s great wedding day love story led them through twists and turns frustrations and breakthroughs in their planning process. All to a beautiful wedding day surrounded by family and friends. Hats off to this couple they had to put off being married for nearly a year from their original wedding date. But thank goodness they stuck with it! Their day was incredible. From first meeting the ladies and gentlemen on the wedding day the excitement was palpable. And that excitement and fun continued throughout.
We managed to get one of the most gorgeous days of the year for them. It was the perfect Michigan day, clear and warm in the afternoon with and bit of crisp cool lake air come evening. The ceremony and reception were on site at Morris Estate in Niles, MI. A venue we’ve come to know and love over the years.
The entire wedding was a perfect fit for the bride and groom. Their patience and persistence paid off big with a truly great wedding day love story. Cheers to them!!
Mallory and Carson’s Union Station wedding day was epic! The Union Station at Crown Plaza has long been one of our favorite places to film. It’s just one of those places that has a special energy and is amazing for events.
As we know 2020 was a year for small gatherings and therefore more modest wedding events. Mallory and Carson’s wedding was kinda a triumph over wedding limitations if there was one. Big venue in the city, hundreds of guests and a big beautiful wedding party! It felt great not to have any limitations in celebrating with them. Not to mention the weather was spot on. We took full advantage of that great weather being outdoors for Mallory and Carson’s first look in the ally next to Omni Hotel plus we visited the war memorial plus the circle for photos/video. It was your perfect Indianapolis wedding day for the perfect couple. Cheers to you Mallory & Carson and thanks for inviting us to be part of your beautiful wedding day!!
Michelle’s father joked in his speech that soon all the rhinestones, glitter and pink would be arriving at their house by the truckload! That got a good laugh but Michelle really did get the wedding of her dreams. She had amazing details, sparkle and her favorite colors. Plus, she had the perfect venue in the Palais Royale to showcase all the glitter and warm, pink tones. The room sparkles without much help (exhibit A, giant ceiling chandeliers) but add in special lighting, floral, glass and table coverings and it really shines. It’s great when a couple can include all their favorites into the wedding day and I think Michelle & Casey did a great job with taste and excellence!
Michelle and her ladies were bustling when we arrived at Aloft Hotel that morning. They were eating Jimmy Johns (a wedding day favorite) and drinking champagne drinks with pretty straws and matching attire. We enjoyed shooting alongside Jessica Strickland to capture all the details and makeup. Casey and his guys were at the family home hanging in the basement and doing their thing. As a videographer, I find lighting in a basement is always so low and flat so I had Casey move outdoors to open his gifts from Michelle and read a letter she wrote him. Michelle also read a letter from Casey and opened gifts which was fun. It’s one of the hidden treats of ceremony prep and gives me insight into what the couple loves.
The wedding ceremony was at Grace United Methodist Church in South Bend. Everything was going right to schedule until we got stuck there waiting out a tornado warning after the service. No worries, Michelle and Casey and their party took it in stride! The guys even played a little basketball in the church gym while we waited. Bride and groom got pictures together under the church carport overhang and later under the entrance of the Morris performing arts theatre. It’s amazing all the beautiful bright footage we got while rain pounded in the background (thanks to great waterproof 4K cameras!). We also filmed beautiful scenes with them inside the Morris Inn lobby area. The gold tones and exquisite architecture provided a romantic background for their portraits. A little rain couldn’t chase the smiles away from this couple. It was a big, beautiful, sparkling wedding day! We’re happy to have added Michelle & Casey to our amazing repertoire of couples married at the Palais Royale.

I think Abbi’s dad said it best at their reception. In marriage don’t find that someone you think you can live with but find the someone you can’t live without. Isn’t that a beautiful statement? I believe it’s definitely the case for Abbi and Dom. They go together like like salt and pepper. 🙂
Abbi and Dom were introduced to me through our mutual friend and their photographer Sarah Sage. She said I’ve got this great couple I’d like you to meet, I love me some Abbi and Dom! So we met over zoom chat and hit it off really well. They described a kind of carefree special event focused on their love for one another and for those people special to them. Naturally I said of course, that sounds great let’s do it!
We wound up having a beautiful day with Abbi and Dom. The weather cooperated and all went according to schedule. The day began at DoubleTree Hotel in South Bend, IN. The guys and girls were getting ready in nearly conjoining conference rooms there. We moved Abbi up to her hotel room to take advantage of the natural light for her dress shots. All the ladies and guys did a cheers together and the stage was set for their ceremony. Their ceremony was at the Basilica at Notre Dame. We did photos all over Notre Dame campus then circled back to the DoubleTree in the atrium for their reception. Abbi and Dom and their party where so chill and easy to film all day. They all did an amazing job. At sunset we went out and filmed them showcasing their newly married together glam in front of the reflective wall there. Let me tell you they killed it! Cheers to the new couple.
