This is maybe the third New Years Eve wedding I’ve filmed in my career and I have great memories of them all. I mean what’s not to like about a New Years Eve wedding? Lot’s of champagne, glitter & noisemakers, plus guests who are ready to celebrate! The latest, Kaley and Sean’s wedding may be one of our most memorable yet.
I’ve gotten to know Sean’s family over the years filming his siblings weddings so it was great to see them all again. It was a perfect wedding day. Wintery white & brisk but not too cold. The locations they chose were on point from the getting ready session at Knownover Farmstead to the reception at The Armory in South Bend. But the main reason the day was an amazing success was Sean, Kaley and their families. They were all very happy for the couple, supportive and a joy to work with.
I mentioned locations. I always find locations are key to any event. Sean’s mother Gail actually discovered the Knownover farmstead in Granger for her daughter Heathers & Ryan’s wedding a couple years back. I had never heard of it before then but was very impressed. Sean and Kaley like Heather and Ryan rented the whole house for the weekend and it was again a perfect choice. We filmed Kaley getting ready in the main level of the house with the oak floors and bay windows. And filmed the guys hanging out in the rustic (pub like) basement. The results were stunning. Not to mention the cozy front yard photo session for their first look plus wedding party photos.
Kaley & Sean hosted a beautiful ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church. Their reception venue choice was the Armory in South Bend. The Armory had that perfect vibe for a New Years Eve event. Bustling wine bar in the front. Crystal chandeliers, large dance floor and a sweet cocktail and bar area for guests. Bride/groom and their guests got busy drinking champagne and danced the night away. We were all having such a great time midnight snuck right up on us. I forgot all about the ball drop until the dj started counting down the seconds and soon we were out of 2020 and into 2021! It was a beautiful New Years Eve wedding topped with a Kiss at midnight and sparkler exit for the bride and groom!
Congrats to the newlyweds may your lives be full of blessing, love and joy!
Wow, what a day for Shannon and Kellen! We arrived to busy wedding party preparations at the Morris Inn and got right to work capturing the bride and groom getting suited up! It wasn’t long before the makeup was done, the tux and dress were on, Kellen was off to the Basilica and Shannon went to see her father for the first time that morning. And what a beautiful moment that was. Seeing her father’s joy for his daughter was really special. The whole day was beautiful and everything fell right into place. Enough from me about the day, see for yourself!

It was a beautiful winter wedding day for Stephanie and Michael. As we did videography we noticed the mood was almost always whimsical and fun. The light was soft and cool, perfect for pics and video. Stephanie said she always dreamed of a downtown Indianapolis wedding in the evening and her dream became a beautiful reality. Partly due to Indy Gigz’s excellent design work and the Columbia Club’s perfect event accommodations the wedding was a beautiful affair. The Columbia Club looked magical with the christmas lights from the Circle Monument peeking through the windows and a warm fire burning in the hearth during their ceremony. Nothing quite like it! Our best to Stephanie and Michael in their future together!
Excitement was in the air as we filmed Katie and Chris getting ready at their hotel. The ladies were enjoying their starbucks drinks and getting made up while the guys were having a beer to relax and looking good in their tuxes. Things went into full gear as the wedding party arrived at the Mustard Seed! Katie had an emotional first look with her dad which we were present to record and guests began to filter in. Although we got a little unexpected rain and had to move the ceremony inside it was no problem as the Mustard Seed is well suited to have an indoor or outdoor ceremony and have it look great either way! Take a look at this sneak peak from Katie and Chris’s film!
