This is maybe the third New Years Eve wedding I’ve filmed in my career and I have great memories of them all. I mean what’s not to like about a New Years Eve wedding? Lot’s of champagne, glitter & noisemakers, plus guests who are ready to celebrate! The latest, Kaley and Sean’s wedding may be one of our most memorable yet.

The day

I’ve gotten to know Sean’s family over the years filming his siblings weddings so it was great to see them all again. It was a perfect wedding day. Wintery white & brisk but not too cold. The locations they chose were on point from the getting ready session at Knownover Farmstead to the reception at The Armory in South Bend. But the main reason the day was an amazing success was Sean, Kaley and their families. They were all very happy for the couple, supportive and a joy to work with.

Locations

I mentioned locations. I always find locations are key to any event. Sean’s mother Gail actually discovered the Knownover farmstead in Granger for her daughter Heathers & Ryan’s wedding a couple years back. I had never heard of it before then but was very impressed. Sean and Kaley like Heather and Ryan rented the whole house for the weekend and it was again a perfect choice. We filmed Kaley getting ready in the main level of the house with the oak floors and bay windows. And filmed the guys hanging out in the rustic (pub like) basement. The results were stunning. Not to mention the cozy front yard photo session for their first look plus wedding party photos.

the countdown!

Kaley & Sean hosted a beautiful ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church. Their reception venue choice was the Armory in South Bend. The Armory had that perfect vibe for a New Years Eve event. Bustling wine bar in the front. Crystal chandeliers, large dance floor and a sweet cocktail and bar area for guests. Bride/groom and their guests got busy drinking champagne and danced the night away. We were all having such a great time midnight snuck right up on us. I forgot all about the ball drop until the dj started counting down the seconds and soon we were out of 2020 and into 2021! It was a beautiful New Years Eve wedding topped with a Kiss at midnight and sparkler exit for the bride and groom!

Congrats to the newlyweds may your lives be full of blessing, love and joy!
