Deana and Austin had a memorable wedding day that included a romantic gondola ride the Indianapolis canal! And what an amazing photo opportunity it was. I believe you can still rent a gondola ride in Indy from Old World Gondoliers. Their ride took them right to the steps of their reception destination. Talk about a memorable entrance! The Indianapolis canal sits about 20 feet below street level and can be walked or boated. Either way makes for a quiet, peaceful experience with amazing views of the city.

Austin and Deana were actually the first couples I’ve worked with to use the canal on their wedding day for more than just taking pictures. Such a creative idea to utilize a public works utility such as the canal for the wedding day.

Ok, let’s back up a bit. We started the day at the Columbia Club where Deana and her bridesmaids got ready. We then did some filming at the Monument Circle with Deana despite the rain sprinkles. The ceremony was at Meridian Street UMC which is very well suited for wedding events.  The wedding was at the former Canal 337 which we filmed this cool event at as well. Oh well, enough talk, take a peek at their short film to see the results!
