I think Abbi’s dad said it best at their reception. In marriage don’t find that someone you think you can live with but find the someone you can’t live without. Isn’t that a beautiful statement? I believe it’s definitely the case for Abbi and Dom. They go together like like salt and pepper. 🙂
Abbi and Dom were introduced to me through our mutual friend and their photographer Sarah Sage. She said I’ve got this great couple I’d like you to meet, I love me some Abbi and Dom! So we met over zoom chat and hit it off really well. They described a kind of carefree special event focused on their love for one another and for those people special to them. Naturally I said of course, that sounds great let’s do it!
We wound up having a beautiful day with Abbi and Dom. The weather cooperated and all went according to schedule. The day began at DoubleTree Hotel in South Bend, IN. The guys and girls were getting ready in nearly conjoining conference rooms there. We moved Abbi up to her hotel room to take advantage of the natural light for her dress shots. All the ladies and guys did a cheers together and the stage was set for their ceremony. Their ceremony was at the Basilica at Notre Dame. We did photos all over Notre Dame campus then circled back to the DoubleTree in the atrium for their reception. Abbi and Dom and their party where so chill and easy to film all day. They all did an amazing job. At sunset we went out and filmed them showcasing their newly married together glam in front of the reflective wall there. Let me tell you they killed it! Cheers to the new couple.
It’s hard to believe but Erica and Greg were high school sweethearts married after some nine years dating! They met in high school, attended Notre Dame together, graduated and began their careers together. All while maintaining a healthy relationship and deferring marriage until the time was right. Wow, that’s incredible!
I can’t imagine waiting 9 years to get married but due to shutdowns they had to wait even longer than planned. Their wedding was planned for spring and got postponed to late summer. fortunately we were free on their new date and could still film for them. Then just two weeks before their new wedding date the venue they were planning to host at had a big scare and mandatory lockdown go in effect. This left their wedding venue and guest hotel shuttered just two weeks prior to the event. Whelp, what terrible timing! But they didn’t give up and went to work on planning for the 3rd time!
With only 8 days to go before the wedding Erica’s mother aka (rockstar) wedding planner went into high gear searching out and booking a new venue. This included updates with vendors. Changing the lighting, food service, flowers and room design. Not to mention updating all the guests to accommodations! The university event professionals were so gracious and so helpful as always through it all. They assisted with free transportation and other services to help facilitate Erica and Greg’s location switch.
It was all such a big and challenging process Erica’s dad got emotional during his speech thanking the vendors. To which he quipped he’s probably the first fob to cry while thanking the vendor teams 🙂 Long story short Erica and Greg were able to have their day and hosted a really breathtaking wedding at Gillespie conference center. If you’re looking at the venue check out this other great film we did there for Molly & Jake!
We couldn’t have been more happy to be there for Erica & Greg to see their day unfold. It was a privilege to create a beautiful film to describe their wedding day. Congrats to you Erica and Greg you’ve come along way, from high school sweethearts to married professionals. We celebrate you guys!
It’s not very often we get to shoot video for multiple weddings from within the same family but this was the case with Kelly and Tyler!
Kelly contacted me early on about her August wedding day. I was excited to hear she had been looking forward to having me film her wedding since seeing her sisters video several years ago!
Kelly and Tyler, it was a privilege to film the beauty of your wedding day and see you let loose and enjoy yourselves as the day unfolded. The two of you are a beautiful couple. Thank you for having us tell the story of your day. Congratulations!
I love how Sandy & Amir’s priest put it when he called the tools to a successful marriage “the old fashioned stuff.” That pretty much says it and I’m confident these guys have that old fashioned stuff.
Sandy and Amir had a beautiful wedding day on the campus of Notre Dame which was fitting as Amir’s father had a strong connection with the University and Amir himself is an alumni. The couple was a pleasure to work with and their elegance made filming them easy. It was also great working with Katie Whitcomb photography again and seeing Emma & Larry who we filmed for last summer with Emma being a bridesmaid this time!
Best of luck to the couple. Go Irish!!
