Lauren and Jordan truly are a match made in heaven! But poor Jordan he had to ask Lauren out three times! Fortunately, on the last time she accepted his invitation. Persistence is key indeed. Lauren said she had seen the signs they were meant to be and although she was hesitant at first she knew right away that Jordan was the one for her.
We love love stories. Sometimes the path is very clear and a couple just knows like Lauren and Jordan did. Other times it’s not so clear and that confidence comes through testing and time. Either way when it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. And with Lauren and Jordan it’s easy to see it was meant to be.
the wedding day
We began the day filming at Lauren’s parents beautiful home in South Bend, IN. It was fantastic seeing all the Wade family again (since Andrea and Garrett’s wedding) and getting covered in Champagne during the girls impromptu champagne toast wasn’t too bad either. After Jordan and his friends finished getting ready at nearby at the Aloft hotel. We witnessed a beautiful first look outdoors by the pool and sped off to the ceremony! Lauren and Jordan incorporated their faith into their ceremony with communion and a cord braiding moment. Said their wedding vows, kissed and that was that. It was reception time at the Palais Royale and the party went down. We were so fortunate to witness this match made in heaven!

The right stuff! Vows, rings, dresses and flowers, these are some of the keys wedding elements that make up a perfect day. There of course are many many more details for your average bride and groom to consider. Some things require much debate and research. Who to hire as your photographer and videographer? Check out this blog post for advice finding your videographer! Will we have a planner? Who should we invite and when do we send those invites out?
This is why the words “wedding planning” sometimes bring with them some level fear and stress! But the most crucial element and one that shouldn’t bring much stress or need much debate I believe is the love the couple shares. Without that love all the other elements seem pretty silly don’t they?
Although every key wedding element of Matt and Lauren’s day was skillfully accounted for by Plum and Poppy resulting in a beautiful ceremony and reception. Their love for and appreciation of one another seemed to take center stage! From tears when they saw each other for the first time on the grand stairway of the Omni Hotel. To the kindness they showed one another in the small ways throughout the day. They clearly made one another the priority. So engaged couples when you’re working hard on your wedding lists and start to hit some stress buttons don’t forget to relax and remember the reason you’re doing this. Take some time to keep your relationship healthy, prioritize caring, kindness and love. Because these are the key wedding elements to your day!
Ceremony Venue Saints Francis and Claire Catholic Church
Emily and Mark had an absolutely beautiful wedding day at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Morris Inn, two of our favorite wedding venues. I thought the speech by Emily’s father shared at the reception was especially moving. He said “Emily has always been a perfectionist. This is evident in all aspects of her life from her gymnastics to even packing a suitcase.. so it’s no surprise to me she picked Mark.” What a great compliment to them both! It was a joy sharing the day with Mark and Emily, laughing with them and seeing them enjoy the whole event. Check out their feature film!
