the wedding day

I may be daydreaming reflecting on Katie and Brad’s ethereal winter wedding. White and bright, cold and grey but hospitable. Subtle cool tones. These are some of the adjectives I’d use to describe the campus of Notre Dame in winter. At least the campus on the kind of day that Katie and Brad had. It was beautiful to say the least. Warm enough we were able to film outside without gloves. But our ears and hands reminded us it was still winter after a half hour or so. Katie Whitcomb and I had a blast taking photos & filming while Katie & Brad did their part looking great and braving the cold. Kudos to them!

We began the day filming with Katie and her bridal crew getting glammed up at their suite in Hilton Garden Inn. We even got a few of Brad getting suited up with his bro’s. Then it was time for Katie’s big reveal with her father as they shared a first look moments before heading to the church. Their Basilica ceremony was beautiful. The priest shared a some memories from Katie’s time taking his “tree class”. Then he even shared some of Katie’s reflections from her time in class. He incorporated those reflections into their ceremony homily in a beautiful way. Their reception followed at the Gillespie conference center nearby which is perfect for large or intimate events such at theirs.

Their winter wedding film has certain attributes of heavenly grace and sublime beauty. Perhaps a good reflection of Katie and Brad’s married life together!
