Benefits of Micro

A micro wedding, mini wedding or mini-mony. Call it what you will the idea is pretty cool. It was a nice alternative for Melanie and Aj, the other option being to postpone their wedding day. Going mini meant they could still have the wedding ceremony of their dreams with their closest friends and family in attendance. They could plan it, live it, photograph it with Conforti Photo and of course Vibrant Productions to film it! And they could still host a big party later.

There are several benefits to a scaled back micro wedding. Who wants to narrow their guest list down to 30 or 40? Not many couples but it does mean a more intimate group. There’s a different atmosphere in a room of 40 than a room of 300. Fewer guests may mean more flexibility and there’s less pressure to impress extended family and social circles. Going micro shouldn’t necessarily mean going cheap. I like the way Melanie and AJ didn’t skimp on having the things they wanted. They had all the details of their choosing and it showed. Of course, mini weddings can also be a great money saver as many vendors and venues offer special rates for those asking. For example we offered them a modified ceremony only plan with half the usual coverage time and a shortened highlight film.

Done Right!

The day was all about Melanie and AJ and they enjoyed every minute together. There was lots of quality time spent and wonderful memories made. They incorporated a close friend to preside over the ceremony and included their two dogs in the procession. The weather cooperated and we were able to get some amazing footage with them outdoors. Their locations were The Hilton Garden Inn for prep and ceremony at The Sanctuary on Penn in Indianapolis, Indiana.
