Heather and Ryan’s wedding was our second time working with the Anderson family in as many years. Which is great because they’re fantastic people and so are the O’Shea’s from Ryan’s side! It’s always cool to see two great families come together with a single purpose to support and celebrate the new couple.
Heather and Ryan were a joy to work with. We started the day with them getting ready at the historic colonial style Kownover Farmstead in Granger, Indiana. Their ceremony was at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and we ended the day on a high note with great speeches and dancing at The Blue Heron at Blackthorn in South Bend, Indiana. Our best to the new couple!

Your life is your interruptions…
The quote above was used by Mick and Heather’s priest during the Homily. The sentiment rings true many times in life I’d say. Though these interruptions are unexpected and catch us off guard, they are not random meaningless events. In fact, I believe these interruptions are divinely placed in our path for a reason.
I must say after working closely with Heather’s family to book the shoot and throughout the day they’re the nicest people I could hope to meet! It was also amazing to me how into each other Heather and Mick were the entire day. Sometimes weddings can be so hectic that the couple forgets to relax and enjoy one another through it all. Not these guys! It was clear that they were truly into every moment and really in love. And of course there’s less to stress about with awesome vendors including Katie and Chris with Katie Whitcomb Photo and Angie with Belle Behind the Ball who helped things go flawlessly. The ladies got ready at The Morris Inn on campus and the ceremony was at The Basilica with the reception following at The Blue Heron on Blackthorn golf course. Clear skies and warm weather were the theme of the day!
I got to know Heather’s sister, Heidi, from working with her as a fellow events industry professional. And I was honored when she referred us to film for Heather and Mike’s wedding this past winter. Although it was a winter wedding in December, it was a balmy 70 degrees outside! And much like the weather Heather, Mike, their friends and family were all very warm and wonderful people to be around. I’ll keep those warm memories with me when I think back on their day. Our best to the happy couple!
