The Day

It was a picture perfect Notre Dame wedding day in October where we were privileged to witness Brittany and William say “I do”. The weather was mild and the colors just starting to change offering some beautiful scenes on campus for filming. The weather, locations plus ceremony and reception events all flowed nicely for a seamless wedding day.

“I do”

I began Brittany and William’s film edit with them saying their vows to one another. I don’t typically start a film this way but it seemed appropriate them. I believe the crux of the wedding ceremony is making of a promise. Whether it takes 100 words or two words it’s the same result. Brittany and William waited a long time for their big day, overcame a cancellation like so many others in 2020 so it was extra special to get to that point. I know it meant the world to them to finally stand up on the alter of the Basilica and make their vows to one another in front of God, family and friends.

The Film

We created a full 10-12 minutes feature film highlights for them plus their ceremony and reception documentary films. Their feature film includes a little segment from everyone who had a toast or speech. Over the speech segments I placed scenes from pre to post ceremony including bride and groom getting ready. The father daughter first look. The ceremony. The photo session around campus. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. And of course all the fun reception events at Downes Club! I think my favorite part of the day was filming Williams reaction to seeing Brittany as she processed up the isle of the Basilica. Well done William and Brittany!
