Vibe in NY

This post is to inform of recent changes in my personal life.  I’ve gotten engaged!  It was during a recent vacation my fiance and I took to NY city to visit some family that I decided to ask the question and she was happy to say yes!  Its been a very happy few weeks since then and we are trying to firm up a date and make some beginning wedding plans.  S0 just wanted to share the happy news!  Thanks.

Perez-Graber Wedding

Ivannia Elizabeth Perez and Benjamin Joel Graber were married June 13th, 2009 at the East Goshen Mennonite Church in Goshen, Indiana.  It was an excellent wedding celebration and Vibe Productions was thrilled to be videotaping the day.  There was excellent music by Gaska String Quartet, photos by Luara Buss and Dj-ing the event at the Spohn Ballroom was Vibe Entertainment also a great meal by Pumpernickels catering.  Some highlights were:  Ben and Ivannia made their faith a prominent part of the day with prayer before by the groomsmen, and several scripture readings and hyms during the ceremony, almost the entire wedding party left a personal video message to the bride and groom, reception set- up (very nice) and a wedding party and bride and groom who weren’t afraid to dance and have fun!

Make an audio Cd of your wedding

Recently Vibe Productions was privileged to produce an audio cd from a wedding we were at.  This was requested by the mother of the bride and what a great idea, now she has the soundtrack to her daughters wedding she can listen to and give to friends.  A soundtrack is something to appreciate and remind you of the day whether your having a full orchestra or playing some songs.  In this case there was a live music band at the ceremony and we took sound from the video (using a shotgun mic for high quality) and put it to a cd with song breaks and graphics on the cd.  It’s a great addition to the wedding video.

Elkhart County Fair

Vibe Productions plans to be present with Vibe Photography this year at the Elkhart County 4-H fair July 17-25, 2009.  Vibe has  been there offering photography and DJ services for several years now, however this year will include video production for the first time.  We plan to offer sample DVD’s and price information.  Although our target market is weddings we will be advertising for promotional and commercial video production as well something we also have a good amount of experience in.  If your planning on being at the fair this year I would invite you to stop by our booth inside the commercial Exhibits building!   The Elkhart County 4-H Fair is one of the largest 4-H county fairs in the nation, attracting more than 300,000 people over the nine-day event.

How to choose your wedding videographer

In previous posts on this topic I’ve covered questions concerning experience, equipment, and services offered.  These are important but something as important is the personal connection you make with your videographer or photographer.  When meeting someone who will possibly be involved this very important day of your life you want to make a good personal connection.  Of course you need to ask questions regarding the services they are offering and perhaps ask about discounts but try and avoid sounding suspicious and skeptical especially if this is someone you have a good feeling about.  You don’t want your videographer or photographer to be offended by you for obvious reasons!  This being said I will warn about choosing your provider based mainly on that individuals charm or lack of.  Great charm and personal charisma may sell a video but not get the work done.  Someone can tell you how great they are for hours but unless they show some examples to back it up or have good references how can you believe it.

Portraits

Vibe Productions although a wedding video provider has the training and skill sets for fine art as well.  Since we do a majority of our business in the wedding industry working with couples it just seems natural we should offer wedding day or engagement portraits done in freehand graphite, acrylic, pastels or oils.  This is a newly offered service but we have been working in the fine arts for many years and have perfected those skills while attending the Columbus College of Art and Design.  An expertly hand crafted portrait is a treasure you and your significant other will cherish for a lifetime.

Wedding Photography Goshen, IN

I wanted to post some video taken by Vibe Productions of the Laura and Matt Hart wedding April 24, 2009.  This video was taken while working with the Vibe Photography team in downtown Goshen, IN at the courthouse and other locations.  Looking for ideas where to have your pictures done?  Especially if you plan on having your reception at the Sphon Ballroom the downtown area is great for getting some shots in before the reception.  Matt and Laura were looking great and we were able to get some fantastic shots!

String Quartet

Looking for a string quartet to play at your wedding?  I’ve enjoyed weddings with live music very much and would definitely recommend hiring musicians if your budget allows.  The Hisey wedding I was recently privelged to film had an excellent set of musicians and talking with Ms. Jerri Hisey mother of the bride I learned she found them by contacting the local Elkhart Symphony.  410 South Main Street Elkhart, Indiana, 46516  (574)293-1087 email symphonyoftheheart@juno.com .  Members of the Elkhart Symphony came to play at the wedding!  They were also able to refer her to a trumpeter who was really good as well.  Or perhaps you would try the South Bend Symphony.  I’ve included some video from the wedding.

Reception Halls

Looking for a venue to accomidate your wedding reception?  Check out the links section of our website vibe productions links, here I’m compiling a list of quality banquet facilities in Northern Indiana and Michigan I’ve shot video at recently.  Some of these locations are more popular than others and although I don’t have them rated ( I can recommend favorites) I do enjoy all of these locations and have had good experiences with them.  My plan is in the near future to upload a little video for each listing thereby creating a visual reference to go on.  If you have good or bad experiences with any of these locations or would like to recommend adding one to the list please comment on our links page or send us a message here at Vibe.  Thanks and have a great day!
