Brandon & Amelia’s Winter Wedding // at Tabor Hill Winery in Buchanan, MI

Brandon and Amelia hosted their wedding event outdoors in November at Tabor Hill Winery in Buchanan, Michigan. It was a perfect day for a winter wedding with a little snow on the ground but clear skies and not too cool. Amelia, her family and co-workers with Burns Rentals did an amazing job designing and furnishing the event. We were honored to be part of their celebration!

Sunni & Tyler’s Notre Dame Winter Wedding Film

I consider myself to be an opportunistic filmmaker. When I arrived to Notre Dame’s campus where Sunni and Tyler were getting ready for their wedding around 8 a.m. I jumped out of the car along the road to capture the snow falling on Notre Dame Blvd. Along my short walk to the Morris Inn I stopped to film other key features on campus. I am always blown away by how beautiful the campus is but it was especially beautiful this winter morning. Putting the beautiful campus aside, the real stars of the show were Tyler and Sunni. Their natural beauty and great camera awareness made it impossible to get a bad shot! It was a privilege to work with them and we wish them the best in their life together!

December is popular for weddings

Its been awhile since my last post as the holiday season is here and everything has been typically busy. I’ve always been extra busy around the holidays trying to get as many video edits done before christmas as possible so couples can watch them with their folks. Also In the past I’ve usually had at least one wedding to film around christmas however this year I have three weddings to film this December and two couples in January! This is fantastic as I really enjoy winter weddings. There’s something really mysterious and romantic about snow and cold grey weather which is perfect for the low indirect lighting desired in photo/video making.

My first winter wedding will be this weekend and will be in South Bend Indiana at the Basilica of the sacred heart of Notre Dame for the wedding of Carla and Tom who just recently booked us for the day. I’m really excited to be working with them!

Kalb-Weldy wedding

The Last wedding Vibe Productions taped was Krystal Kalb and Braden Weldy December 6th. This was a unique event for several reasons one being the time of year and there just so happened to be a snow storm that day which made for a really neat look and feel. The other being that the ceremony and reception took place in the same room. For brides wondering whether a late year wedding would be successful I would say the answer is definitely yes. If you don’t mind a little cold weather and snow its really cool.

One thing to consider when doing a winter wedding however is location and I would say the fewer the better! Thats what Krystal thought as well being she had the wedding ceremony and reception at the same location. It was held at the Spohn Ballroom in Goshen, IN. an absolutely beautiful restored ballroom on the top floor of the Spohn building. This facility was recently restored and since then has been booked almost solid for events on weekends. So with some clever set up; Arranging seats in the front for the ceremony and tables previously set in the back the ceremony chairs were simply removed after the ceremony and the tables were slid into place all while guests were in the overflow reception area of the ballroom having appetizers. This was all made to flow smoothly by the staff of Pumpernickle’s Catering of Elkhart who also served an excellent dinner.

Overall it was a very romantic evening seeing the snow fall out the windows on main street below and being warm inside. Braden and Krystal had a wonderful wedding and their guests had a great time dining and celebrating with them. Congrats guys!
