Oh the urgency of love! It was a beautiful reason for Carrie and Mark. They didn't want to cancel their wedding videography and event!

The urgency of love! | Indianapolis Wedding Video | Avon Gardens

Oh the urgency of love! We were so happy to share Carrie and Mark’s Wedding Film. It took a lot for them to keep their wedding plans intact during the pandemic but they pulled it off! Carrie and Mark were our first clients back from the extended shut down. Their wedding was early in June when no one really knew what was going on in the pandemic. And there was no definitely no road map for hosting a wedding in a pandemic. When the whole world was hiding inside from fear and there wasn’t even any mask wearing yet because no-one knew about that. Pretty much all my weddings that year had been postponed and I was just looking at my schedule like really? Carrie and Mark haven’t postponed? Wow! I emailed to be sure and yes they were getting married!

It was uncharted territory but God gave us all courage and showed us the way. From large last minute changes like a new wedding venue to small adjustments such as seating arrangements and elbows rather than handshakes they made it work. The best part is they made the best of every minute! Carrie said “now that I’ve found the one I love I don’t want to put off getting married any longer. Now more than ever I realize how important it is to spend time with the people we love. ”

The biggest take away for me is I was really struck by the beauty of Carrie’s words. We should all be impacted by the urgency of love. Don’t put off until tomorrow the chance to love. What a beautiful take away from all this. Congrats Carrie and Mark!

Journeyman Distillery wedding | Three Oaks, MI | Natalie and Eric

The journeyman!

What a space! Natalie and Eric hosted their Journeyman Distillery wedding in Three Oaks, Michigan. We love Michigan weddings Journeyman is actually a distillery, restaurant and event venue all under one roof. The wedding and reception took place in Warren Hall one of three event spaces on the third floor. The upstairs event areas are full of natural light which are perfect for cinematography. Everything about the space was warm, inviting and full of character. The building space was originally the feather bone factory, a corset and buggy whip maker some 100 years ago and still bears old industrial remnants as reminders of that. The bottom floor of the space is the Staymaker restaurant, whiskey distillery and store. If you enjoy the sweet smell of hash brewing and the savory aroma of food on the grill you’ll love this place. I liked the chill vibe of the restaurant and whiskey bar with tasting tours going on. You might think a wedding wouldn’t want to share a building with a restaurant full of strangers but that’s kind of the culture of an up scale distillery. People, food and drink and social interaction. The Journeyman is known for it’s excellent whiskey and having special drinks & whiskey on site is a boon for many wedding guests.

The wedding!

Bride and groom got prepped on site, did their first look in an empty bar on the 1st floor. Then we went upstairs to the venue where we enjoyed their photo session in the Grainery. They had a beautiful ceremony right at sunset we could watch through the windows. Then it was a room flip from ceremony to reception while guests enjoyed cocktails nearby. Floral and event design by Snapdragon designs and Cyndi Basker from Celebrated Events. Guests enjoyed day of party favors, catering and drinks by Journeyman. A nice advantage of having a restaurant/distillery in house! The sights and sounds of Natalie and Eric’s wedding were absolutely lovely. We had a fantastic time seeing their event unfold in before our eyes and our cameras! Eric was a former professional soccer player and he and his friends put some of the energy and endurance required for soccer towards their dancing! It was a wild dance floor let me tell you.

From their first look when we arrived to getting down on the dance floor Natalie & Eric’s energy and chemistry together was amazing. Congrats to the new Mr and Mrs. Gehrig!

Scottish Rite Wedding in Indianapolis, IN // Nora and Dan

Nora and Dan are a beautiful example of a couple so in love and committed it got them through years of long distance relationship including literally hundreds of flights back and forth and thousands of hours FaceTiming together! To say they were ready for this moment in life (their wedding day) would be an understatement! It was awesome to witness the excitement between them and those who came to support them at their union and the culmination of that long sought after togetherness.

Take a moment to check out their Feature Film here!

Their wedding was a beautiful compilation of locations and moments. Many thanks to our crew Zarah & Sam for filming the day. We began with Nora getting ready at her parents home and Dan getting ready downtown Indy in a swanky hotel. The ceremony was at the lovely St. Louis De Montfort Catholic Church in Fishers. After the ceremony we went for a candid photo/video session at the Ambassador House and Military Park downtown. The Reception did not fail to wow at the Scottish Rite Cathedral.

Shannon & Kellen’s Wedding at The Brick

Wow, what a day for Shannon and Kellen! We arrived to busy wedding party preparations at the Morris Inn and got right to work capturing the bride and groom getting suited up! It wasn’t long before the makeup was done, the tux and dress were on, Kellen was off to the Basilica and Shannon went to see her father for the first time that morning. And what a beautiful moment that was. Seeing her father’s joy for his daughter was really special.  The whole day was beautiful and everything fell right into place. Enough from me about the day, see for yourself!
