It was a picture perfect Notre Dame wedding day in October where we were privileged to witness Brittany and William say “I do”. The weather was mild and the colors just starting to change offering some beautiful scenes on campus for filming. The weather, locations plus ceremony and reception events all flowed nicely for a seamless wedding day.
I began Brittany and William’s film edit with them saying their vows to one another. I don’t typically start a film this way but it seemed appropriate them. I believe the crux of the wedding ceremony is making of a promise. Whether it takes 100 words or two words it’s the same result. Brittany and William waited a long time for their big day, overcame a cancellation like so many others in 2020 so it was extra special to get to that point. I know it meant the world to them to finally stand up on the alter of the Basilica and make their vows to one another in front of God, family and friends.
We created a full 10-12 minutes feature film highlights for them plus their ceremony and reception documentary films. Their feature film includes a little segment from everyone who had a toast or speech. Over the speech segments I placed scenes from pre to post ceremony including bride and groom getting ready. The father daughter first look. The ceremony. The photo session around campus. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. And of course all the fun reception events at Downes Club! I think my favorite part of the day was filming Williams reaction to seeing Brittany as she processed up the isle of the Basilica. Well done William and Brittany!
Places matter to us as we move through the journey of life. It’s amazing how places can shape who we are and leave such an impact on our memory. I think the biggest reason for this is because of the people we encounter in those places. Sarah and Justin met on the campus of Notre Dame while they both attended undergrad together, got engaged on campus and fittingly enough said “I do” on the same campus some 6 and half years after first meeting! So to say the university has special place in their hearts and life is by far understatement!
From the getting ready at Morris Inn to the ceremony at the Basilica and following reception at Dahnke Ballroom. It was a day filled with beauty and so much joy. I wish many years of life, love and happiness for Sarah and Justin together!!
How fantastic would it be to have your wedding on the campus of Notre Dame Indiana and in the winter?! Pretty cool I’d say! Carla and Tom chose The Basilica as the venue for their gorgeous December wedding this past year. The grounds of Notre dame were very inspiring with the elegant gothic architecture and cool light of winter adding to the romantic ambiance. I’d say from the magnificent Basilica to the grounds and grotto this campus is a bride’s and photographers dream come true. Tom and Carla along with Janet Hankins at Nd did an excellent job planning this gorgeous day. And of course a wedding wouldn’t be complete without a reception which was held at the beautiful South Bend Marriott Atrium. Take a look into Carla and Tom’s winter adventure with their Highlights from the day!
