A winter wedding day | Notre Dame, IN | Katie & Brad

the wedding day

I may be daydreaming reflecting on Katie and Brad’s ethereal winter wedding. White and bright, cold and grey but hospitable. Subtle cool tones. These are some of the adjectives I’d use to describe the campus of Notre Dame in winter. At least the campus on the kind of day that Katie and Brad had. It was beautiful to say the least. Warm enough we were able to film outside without gloves. But our ears and hands reminded us it was still winter after a half hour or so. Katie Whitcomb and I had a blast taking photos & filming while Katie & Brad did their part looking great and braving the cold. Kudos to them!

We began the day filming with Katie and her bridal crew getting glammed up at their suite in Hilton Garden Inn. We even got a few of Brad getting suited up with his bro’s. Then it was time for Katie’s big reveal with her father as they shared a first look moments before heading to the church. Their Basilica ceremony was beautiful. The priest shared a some memories from Katie’s time taking his “tree class”. Then he even shared some of Katie’s reflections from her time in class. He incorporated those reflections into their ceremony homily in a beautiful way. Their reception followed at the Gillespie conference center nearby which is perfect for large or intimate events such at theirs.

Their winter wedding film has certain attributes of heavenly grace and sublime beauty. Perhaps a good reflection of Katie and Brad’s married life together!

Megan and Sean’s wedding was an awesome way to end 2016 and welcome in 2017! We loved bringing in the near year with them and were blessed to be their videographers and work alongside our amazing vendor friends Richelle from Palais, Angie of Belle Behind the Ball and Beth Ann of Anderson Photography at the Palais Royale in South Bend, IN. It truly was as their priest said a monumental marriage. Not only did Megan and Sean had a very big beautiful wedding event on New Years Eve but they’re a couple who we know will be so great together.  Thanks Megan and Sean for allowing us to be your videographers and take part in your special day. Our best to the happy couple in the future!

Indianapolis Wedding Cinematographer for Brittany & Aubrey’s November event

Brittany and Aubrey were were married in November which I think could be the new October for weddings:) When I started out as a wedding cinematographer 10 short years ago few brides were choosing to be married in October now it’s the busiest month of our calendar. Maybe some of that late season excitement could spill into November. Let’s be honest the temps can be pretty cold at that time of year but there’s the benefit of less competition for venue space!

Both Brittany, Aubrey and their friends were a blast to work with. You can tell a couple has a good sense of humor when they don’t take it too seriously while friends and family deliver their punchlines! There was no shortage of laughs throughout the day. And of course some very sensational moments as well. This spectrum of emotions is something I love seeing in our client’s. I especially love capturing emotion and selectively placing it in the film to help our couples relive their day to the fullest. Congrats Brittany and Aubrey!

Heather & Ryan’s Wedding Film Trailer

Heather and Ryan’s wedding was our second time working with the Anderson family in as many years. Which is great because they’re fantastic people and so are the O’Shea’s from Ryan’s side! It’s always cool to see two great families come together with a single purpose to support and celebrate the new couple.

Heather and Ryan were a joy to work with. We started the day with them getting ready at the historic colonial style Kownover Farmstead in Granger, Indiana. Their ceremony was at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and we ended the day on a high note with great speeches and dancing at The Blue Heron at Blackthorn in South Bend, Indiana. Our best to the new couple!
