Hearing Mary and Jamie tell their story it’s easy to see their hearts are at home together. Mary says she knew the first time she saw Jamie. Jamie described taking Mary to vacation with his family very early on in their courtship and it being so natural. They are from opposite ends ends of the country. Mary from Florida and Jamie from California but their paths converged at the crossroads of America, Indiana! Since they met at Notre Dame University it was only fitting that they were married in a destination wedding on campus at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart back where it all began.
The idea of home being where the heart is was the meaning behind an awesome song Jamie wrote and performed for Mary at their reception at The Brick. Since they met whether they were just across campus from each other during college years or coasts apart they had found their home in one another. Our best to the new couple. May your home be blessed with happiness and filled with beauty!
We were delighted to film Ken and Mami’s Indiana destination wedding reception at Morris Inn on the campus of Notre Dame. When you think of South Bend, IN you don’t typically think of destination wedding right? South Bend is actually a very popular destination for weddings. This isn’t because of the weather for sure or the city. It’s for one reason alone Notre Dame. Couples come from all over the US and abroad to be married here at that storied Basilica on campus. Many students come here from out of state. They meet on campus during their undergrad and either get married while still students or come back years later to be married there bringing family and friends from all over!
Ken and Mami were legally married in their home country of Japan. However they both had ties to the US and especially South Bend, IN. Ken’s grandfather had immigrated to South Bend, Indiana many years ago and started their family business there which has grown to a large Japanese corporation Nachi America. He became part of the Notre Dame community and the family has enjoyed a special relationship with the university since. So this was a beautiful way for them to honor this heritage. Not only that but Ken attended ND and it holds a special place in his heart.
Mami was the sweetest bride and her family and friends were very endearing. Many came all the way from Tokyo to celebrate with Ken and Mami. Others came from Pennsylvania where Ken had worked for the Corning glass company. they wanted to have a special event at Notre Dame to honor their many friends and associates from the US.
The university venue nd staff provided a smaller size banquet room at Morris Inn as the party didn’t exceed 100. It was a really nice intimate evening with wine, speeches, dancing and vow renewals. Check out our short film of their reception!
Brittany and Braden are shared their Wedding Day with friends and family in style at The Chateau Bu-She’ in Alsip, Ill. The reception hall and ceremony site were conveniently in the same building, attached but separate. The reception was indoors while the ceremony was hosted under a beautiful covered atrium that allowed the outside light in while still being climate controlled inside.
We really enjoyed spending the day with Brittany and Braden. They’re two very endearing individuals and really perfect for one another! And as the preacher mentioned they shared the most amazing, handwritten vows for one another. Our thanks for Brittany and Braden for having us come out to film your day. May you have joy and peace and as Brittany’s father said enjoy “hanging out” as husband and wife the rest of your lives together!
I got to know Heather’s sister, Heidi, from working with her as a fellow events industry professional. And I was honored when she referred us to film for Heather and Mike’s wedding this past winter. Although it was a winter wedding in December, it was a balmy 70 degrees outside! And much like the weather Heather, Mike, their friends and family were all very warm and wonderful people to be around. I’ll keep those warm memories with me when I think back on their day. Our best to the happy couple!
