What a wedding adventure of sights, sounds and all the feels. I often think of a wedding day as an adventure. It’s fun, it’s a step into the unknown. It starts with much excitement and expectation. It has unexpected twists and turns. It teaches us things we didn’t know, we meet new people along the way. And it’s always about making new memories.
We followed Rachelle and Brooks down memory lane in their own words learning about how everything began with a “non date” date to a Chicago cubs game. We heard how they went from friends going to a baseball game together to their wedding day. We head and couldn’t stop singing a heart warming song sung by Brook’s father to the couple. Spoiler alert it’s in the feature film below!
Brooks and Rachelle celebrated well with awesome vows, notes, speeches, dances. The location Rock Run Creek Barn was perfect for their event. Not to mention it allowed them to be outdoors when the pandemic was shutting everything down. They began the day there. Hosted the ceremony there outdoors and the reception inside. They ended the night with an epic sparkler send off and drove away in a classic car at sunset. Wow, what a wedding adventure! And the adventure is really just getting started for them. Join us in celebrating Rachelle and Brooks and journey through their day via their wedding film. Thanks to Zarah and Sam for filming their beautiful love story for us.
The right vows, rings, dresses and flowers, these are some of the keys wedding elements that make up a perfect day. There of course are many many more details for your average bride and groom to consider. Some things require much debate and research. Who to hire as your photographer and videographer? Check out this blog for advice finding your videographer! Will we have a planner? Who should we invite and when do we send those invites out?
This is why the words “wedding planning” sometimes bring with them some level fear and stress! But the most crucial element and one that shouldn’t bring much stress or need much debate I believe is the love the couple shares. Without that love all the other elements seem pretty silly don’t they?
Although every key wedding element of Matt and Lauren’s day was skillfully accounted for by Plum and Poppy resulting in a beautiful ceremony and reception. Their love for and appreciation of one another seemed to take center stage! From tears when they saw each other for the first time on the grand stairway of the Omni Hotel. To the kindness they showed one another in the small ways throughout the day. They clearly made one another the priority. So engaged couples when you’re working hard on your wedding lists and start to hit some stress buttons don’t forget to relax and remember the reason you’re doing this. Take some time to keep your relationship healthy, prioritize caring, kindness and love. Because these are the key wedding elements to your day!

Brittany and Aubrey were were married in November which I think could be the new October for weddings:) When I started out as a wedding cinematographer 10 short years ago few brides were choosing to be married in October now it’s the busiest month of our calendar. Maybe some of that late season excitement could spill into November. Let’s be honest the temps can be pretty cold at that time of year but there’s the benefit of less competition for venue space!
Both Brittany, Aubrey and their friends were a blast to work with. You can tell a couple has a good sense of humor when they don’t take it too seriously while friends and family deliver their punchlines! There was no shortage of laughs throughout the day. And of course some very sensational moments as well. This spectrum of emotions is something I love seeing in our client’s. I especially love capturing emotion and selectively placing it in the film to help our couples relive their day to the fullest. Congrats Brittany and Aubrey!
We had a fantastic day filming for Lindsay and Bo. The weather was beautiful which is not always the case in April and we finally got our new toy err.. drone out to film!
Thanks so much Lindsay and Bo for giving us the opportunity to film your wedding day. You were fun to work with. I’m glad we were able to capture the energy and excitement of your day. Best wishes for a long life together.
