When I first arrived to the air bnb Shannon and her ladies were at Shannon was readying for the champagne spray and toast. I grabbed my camera jumped out of the car and yelled wait for me! I’m glad I was there to catch it as it was an awesome scene to begin the day with.
After cleaning any excess champagne off of their hands Shannon and the bridesmaids began getting ready as we went into filming the details! Shannon’s mother helped her into the dress and it was time for the big reveal. Katie from OMG photography did a great job positioning the bridesmaids at the bottom of the stairs while Shannon walked down to them. All the ladies swooned over seeing her in the dress the first time. It was definitely a highlight of the morning!
Meanwhile Christopher was getting prepped and hanging at the Morris Inn on campus with his guys. He graciously read the letter Shannon had wrote him on camera as Shannon had done with his letter earlier. I always encourage couples to write and read a note from one another if they’re comfortable doing so. It’s a great way to hear in their own words how they feel. Shannon and Christopher’s notes were very sweet.
After all the prep Christopher took one last stroll as a single man along with his guys across the quad over to the Basilica for the wedding mass. Shannon arrived shortly thereafter and was soon coming through those beautiful medieval double doors. All eyes fixed on her as she made her way down that long basilica isle to the man of her dreams.
The reception was on campus at Downes Ballroom overlooking the football stadium. There was speeches, dinner, dancing and a surprise video appearance from the former women’s basketball coach Muffet McGraw! For all family and friends who couldn’t join Shannon and Christopher asked us to provide live streaming of the reception. It was a really thoughtful way to include everyone they cared about and really showed their character. Our best to the newlyweds!

Getting ready was a blast at the Morris Inn with beautiful natural light moments filming the lovely bride and handsome groom. We soaked up all the fun along with their wedding party and talented photographers Katie & Chris Whitcomb who always arrange the activities and details to look the finest. Do I have to mention how great it is to have talented, experienced and helpful photographers for your event? Ok, let’s go ahead and show you the Trailer Film then if you have a few extra minutes go ahead and watch their Feature Film as well!
It’s not all the time you meet a couple who are as likable as John and Gina. They’re both very genuine, good hearted people. These characteristics which have no doubt served them well as individuals will surely make for a very successful marriage going forward.
The day got rolling with John, Gina and their party getting ready at the Doubletree Hotel in South Bend. John presented Gina with a beautiful pearl necklace and a surprise reveal of their honeymoon destination. Gina presented John with a beautiful pocket watch and her mother and father with traditional hankies to dry their tears. Gina joked the Old wives’ tail goes “if you catch one of the Bride’s tears with the hanky, your crops will be grow and be watered.”
For the ceremonies Gina and John said their vows in the Basilica and partied afterward at the beautiful Palais Royale.
We wish Gina and John the best that life has to offer!

Sometimes as a cinematographer all the pieces just seem to fall into place and that’s how it went for Kelly & Jonathan’s wedding. One fantastic shot opportunity after another. Of course having their wedding at the beautiful Notre Dame Basilica and doing photos on the fantastic campus made it way easy for us!
Kelly and Jonathan were both graduates of Notre Dame but come from out East. So this was essentially a destination wedding for them and a great location for it. We really enjoyed working with the couple as they made us feel very included in their day.
