Destination Wedding at The Morris Inn | Notre Dame, IN

South Bend Indiana destination wedding at The Morris Inn at Notre Dame. Married on campus at ND University.

Ken and Mami's Destination Wedding Reception at Notre Dame

We were delighted to film Ken and Mami’s Indiana destination wedding reception at Morris Inn on the campus of Notre Dame. When you think of South Bend, IN you don’t typically think of destination wedding right? South Bend is actually a very popular destination for weddings. This isn’t because of the weather for sure or the city. It’s for one reason alone Notre Dame. Couples come from all over the US and abroad to be married here at that storied Basilica on campus. Many students come here from out of state. They meet on campus during their undergrad and either get married while still students or come back years later to be married there bringing family and friends from all over!

Ken and Mami were legally married in their home country of Japan. However they both had ties to the US and especially South Bend, IN. Ken’s grandfather had immigrated to South Bend, Indiana many years ago and started their family business there which has grown to a large Japanese corporation Nachi America. He became part of the Notre Dame community and the family has enjoyed a special relationship with the university since. So this was a beautiful way for them to honor this heritage. Not only that but Ken attended ND and it holds a special place in his heart.

Mami was the sweetest bride and her family and friends were very endearing. Many came all the way from Tokyo to celebrate with Ken and Mami. Others came from Pennsylvania where Ken had worked for the Corning glass company.  they wanted to have a special event at Notre Dame to honor their many friends and associates from the US.
The university venue nd staff provided a smaller size banquet room at Morris Inn as the party didn’t exceed 100. It was a really nice intimate evening with wine, speeches, dancing and vow renewals. Check out our short film of their reception!
